Vice President, Business Development - Foundation & Endowment

Overview

This position is responsible for successfully leading and coordinating all foundation and endowment ( F&E ) client acquistion and support services offered to current and prospective clients resulting in high client loyalty and significant growth in revenue for the organization.

Works with minimal supervision and is responsible for independently making a broad range of decisions, escalating to more senior management when necessary.

Responsibilities

What you will do :

  • Leads the team's effort to develop new foundation and endowment relationships and builds strategic centers of influence through new business development and continual contact, referrals and elevation of the Private Client Group and Fort Washington Investment Advisor institutional brand in the marketplace.
  • Leads, coordinates and develops an effective client contact strategy and identifies new opportunities for business.
  • Ensures the team's proficient delivery of the Fort Washington client experience resulting in a high level of loyalty, retention, increase in wallet share and referrals from current F&E clients, their Board Members, and families.
  • Oversees and ensures client wealth management plans continually meet client needs and account objectives are updated appropriately.
  • Solidifies partnerships via coordination of all teams by facilitating pre-call planning effort, client focused meeting agendas, world-class client presentations, documented client goals and priorities, meeting and call summaries, notes and debrief with action items following any client interaction.
  • Ensures effective and continual communication across the PCG and Institutional teams and leads through regular team meetings and mentorship.
  • Is visibly relevant and plays a valuable role in the local community (boards and after-hours volunteer work).
  • Works with the marketing department to develop prospect presentations, ongoing marketing materials and provides input to enhance the Private Client Group's brand.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (Required)
  • Master's Degree (business administration, finance, economics, law, taxation). (Preferred)
  • Proven significant experience (over 10 years) and track record of building wealth / asset management strategies with new or existing clients and prospects through fee-based services. (Required)
  • Demonstrated deep experience in building, articulating and executing the key elements of the Fort Washington's wealth / asset management process.
  • Proven knowledge of investment and portfolio management theory, accounting and financial principles, associated investment strategies and instruments, characteristics of world markets and full range of investment products.
  • Demonstrated superb verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey information including market and investment updates, verbally and in writing, to internal and external customers, at all levels, in a clear, accurate, focused and concise manner.
  • Must provide examples of proficiently presenting information internally and to clients at all levels of understanding and knowledge.
  • Demonstrated use of strong listening and communication techniques and presentation software are required.
  • Verbal and written communications are to conform to proper rules of punctuation, grammar, diction and style.
  • Demonstrated experience effectively leading and influencing a group of diverse functions to a recommended and coordinated course of action.
  • Proven successful experience coaching and mentoring teams to achieve high levels of performance and client service.
  • Proven experience successfully coordinating a team of diverse functions in a high volume business with competing priorities and ensuring accurate and timely completion of work with excellent communication among the team.
  • Must demonstrate strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
  • Expected to cite examples of organization and time management methods used to manage or prioritize workload demands.
  • Must demonstrate project management experience in planning, executing and maintaining a project from start to finish.
  • Proven strong analytical skills, including demonstrated experience identifying, defining and resolving problems, collecting or intepreting data to establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Proven experience with developing innovative, effective and creative resolutions and solutions.
  • Must be able to cite examples of good decision-making skills when dealing with multiple alternatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and use new methodologies.
  • This includes providing examples of strong negotiating skills to resolve problems.
  • CFA and / or CFP Upon Hire (Preferred)
