Position Summary :

The Actuarial Department at Trupanion is recruiting a Senior Manager focusing on pricing with the ability to work well in a dynamic and complex regulatory environment.

The position requires resourceful and creative actuarial capabilities, excellent communication, great leadership and interpersonal skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality and timely work products to both internal and external customers.

This position is open to candidates in the Seattle area . You will have a hybrid remote / in-office schedule where you will work from our casual, pet-friendly office at least 3 days a week .

What you will do :

• Manage, lead and develop the actuarial pricing team devoted to various pet insurance product offerings
• Create, implement and review new pricing strategies
• Think creatively and work with limited and emerging data
• Work directly with state regulators to manage rate and rule filings with timely completion
• Foster effective working relationships with key internal business partners across the organization
• Information expert with the ability to understand & translate data into meaningful communications

Experience you have :

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (finance, economics, math) or equivalent experience
• Achievement of ACAS or ASA and MAAA preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years of leading a team.
• Pricing / Rate experience required
• Reserving experience preferred

• Ability to plan, manage and execute projects
• Experience reviewing and managing rate filings and / or regulatory review process
• Ability to develop and apply actuarial models to diverse situations

• Skill at communicating rates and pricing efforts to diverse audiences across the business
• Ability to work with and lead actuaries from a variety of backgrounds, both P&C and / or Health
• Highly driven and motivated to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

Compensation :

• The pay range for this position is $120,000 -$140,000, on a full-time schedule.
• Along with base salary, Trupanion employees may be eligible for monthly bonuses.
• We want all employees to be invested in Trupanion’s success, so we grant Restricted Stock Units to all new team members.

Our new hire grants vest over 4 years.
