The UC Irvine School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences is the first public pharmacy school in the Los Angeles-Orange County region.

Its faculty and programs span a continuum from discovery, development, and delivery of new drugs, devices, and diagnostics all the way to optimizing medication therapy in patients and patient populations.

The school offers a BS in Pharmaceutical Sciences, MS in Pharmacology, PhD in Pharmacological Sciences, and Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD.

As part of the Susan & Henry Samueli College of Health Sciences, we actively collaborate with schools and programs in medicine, nursing, and population, public health, and the Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute to educate, train, and mentor the next generation of pharmaceutical scientists and clinical pharmacists.

Responsibilities :

Reporting to the School’s Personnel Manager, under general direction, the Personnel Analyst is responsible for the administration of assigned personnel functions for academic and staff employees and contingent workers in the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

The School comprises 2 Departments, approximately 44 faculty members, 35 staff, 84 student employees, and 32 non-faculty academic appointments.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, academic personnel recruitment, academic appointment and review files, graduate student appointment management, visa files, layoff, leaves, additional compensation, and some payroll and time reporting duties.

Serves as a resource to the Department Chairs, faculty and staff regarding academic personnel and human resources matters.

Required :

Ability to analyze complex management issues, develop project scope and solutions, give professional advice to senior officials, and make critical decisions regarding personnel.

Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.

Excellent critical and innovative thinking to address moderately complex issues and present nuanced analyses.

Skill to organize a variety and a large volume of complex documentation on a daily basis to maintain accurate and readily accessible information

Ability to handle all personnel and payroll matters with tact, discretion, and confidentiality

Computational ability to determine payroll information and conduct required analyses

Ability to prioritize workload involving multiple involving multiple functions and to meet multiple deadlines with minimal supervision or direction, and to complete assignments in a environment with frequent interruptions and distractions while also maintain accuracy

Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills

High proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel

1-5 years in human resources and / or personnel administration

Preferred :

Human resources and / or personnel experience at UCI or another UCI is preferred
