JOB DESCRIPTION
Eastern Metal Supply, Inc
Purpose of Position : Under general supervision, operate a telephone console to service incoming calls and provide general information to callers.
Duties and Responsibilities : The following duties are typical of those performed by employees in this job title; however, employees may perform other related duties, and not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each employee in the job title :
- Operate multi-line switchboard in order to transfer and answer incoming calls.
- Answer and direct phone calls in a polite and friendly manner
- Determine intent of caller and make appropriate connection.
- Sort and distribute incoming mail.
- Greet people entering the building, answering any questions, providing directions and alerting staff when someone is there to meet or visit them.
- Train new receptionist in performance of job duties
- Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
Qualifications :
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to calculate numbers, correct entries, and post to records.
- Professional customer service techniques
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Punctual with strong attendance history
- Must be able to work in a busy environment.
