SUMMARY
The Maintenance Supervisor identifies, troubleshoots, and supervises the repair and maintenance of all plant equipment. Oversees and directs maintenance staff to ensure projects are prioritized and completed.
Works as part of a team to ensure responsiveness, efficiency, and compliance to all maintenance procedures / work instructions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Troubleshoot, repair, and assist with or direct the rebuild of equipment in the plant, i.e., balers, conveyors, flooring, pulleys, etc.
- Assist with or direct the repair and maintainenance of all electrical, mechanical, pnuematic and hydraulic equipment, as well as welding, torching, and painting equipment.
- Partner with Maintenance Manager and Operations Manager to design, modify, or change equipment to work for specific functions.
- Review maintenance budget and partners with Operations Director and Operations Manager to ensure equipment purchases stay within the budget.
- Wear proper PPE protective equipment at all times. Also oversee and ensure that maintenance personnel abides by all company safety policies as well as federal, state and local regulations.
This includes, but is not limited to, the use of required PPE protective equipment and Lock out / Tag out procedures.
- Responsible for maintenance issues as assigned during off-hours as outlined in the On-Call Workers Policy.
- Directly supervise employees in the Maintenance department; carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include assisting with interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work;
appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving issues.

- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Ensure all ISO quality procedures and work instructions are performed in accordance to company standards and ensure that all quality forms are accurately completed
- Consistently maintain a neat, clean, and safe work area, which includes clean up after maintenance work is completed throughout the facility and ensuring tools and equipment are in working condition
- Provide support and training for maintenance Technicians on the importance of quality workmanship and compliance of all company policies / procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 3-5 years of maintenance experience and / or training (required)
- Minimum of 1-year supervisory experience (required)
- High school diploma, G.E.D, or equivalent (required)
- Technical certification (preferred)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to :
- Constantly move about to accomplish tasks or move between worksites.
- Occasionally move self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
- Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
- Occasionally lift, move, or position objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Vision requirements include corrected / uncorrected distant and near vision, depth perception, and ability to distinguish between colors.
- Regularly works around moving mechanical parts.
- Climb ladders and stairs to access equipment.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the production department and other designated areas. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet conditions, extreme cold and heat.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Temperatures inside the plant can fluctuate between hot and cold according to seasonal changes.
