Idaho Housing and Finance Association is a leading organization dedicated to providing housing solutions and financial assistance to individuals and families in Idaho.
We are currently seeking a professional to join our team as a Housing Counseling Support Specialist . The specialist will play a crucial role in assisting with various counseling and support functions, ensuring the smooth operation of our housing counseling programs.
In this role, you will have the following responsibilities :
Intake Specialist :
- Answers all initial housing counseling phone calls for non-IHFA counseling clients, provides information on housing counseling options as well as in-taking client information
- Completes initial housing counseling intake assessment
- Creates and sends out counseling packets and organizes files upon return
- Analyzes financials and inputs into CMS
- Assigns counseling files to counselors
- Start-up correspondence with servicers
- Assists non-IHFA counselors with counseling tasks as needed
- Will complete HO250 and will become a certified counselor consistent with new HUD guidelines
- Reviews closed files for compliance
- Scans / uploads files for storage
Online Homebuyer Education :
- Answer support questions for online homebuyer education for all state programs for email / chat / phone
- Assists with research and monitoring
- Assist with statistical data recording and analysis of demographics of Finally Home! classes
- Answer questions related to the live HBE classes
- Additional projects on an as needed basis
Data Compilation :
- Assist with the data compilation for both homebuyer education as well as all housing counseling provided by IHFA
- Tracks housing counseling inquiries and maintains spreadsheets
- Data analysis of one-on-one housing counseling files for all IHFA housing counseling cases and IHFA counseling reporting
- Reviews closed counselor files and completes checklist
Communication / Correspondence :
- Answer general phone calls and perform back up assistance as needed
- Clerical functions
- Drafting letters / communication with lenders and customers
- Follow up with potential housing counseling clients
Customer Service :
Work to ensure customer service needs are met, and guidelines and regulatory requirements are followed while maintaining excellent customer relations
Personal Development :
- Participate in training and cross-training on an individual basis with department staff
- Foster a team atmosphere
- Attend job-related classes and seminars to acquire necessary job-related knowledge
May perform other additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements :
Position qualifications required are the following :
- 5 plus years of experience in performing administrative functions
- General knowledge of accounting principles
- Self-directed and motivated with strong computer and communication skills
- A four-year degree in a related field is desirable
- Ability to prioritize and organize tasks effectively
- Good interpersonal skills to communicate with a variety of individuals
- Willingness to become a HUD certified housing counselor
- Experience with Word and Excel preferred
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
