Hire Resolve's client, a reputable accounting firm in Chicago, is seeking a highly skilled SALT (State and Local Tax) Senior Accountant to join their team.
As an integral member of the firm's tax department, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and providing expert guidance on state and local tax compliance and planning matters.
Responsibilities :
- Prepare and review various state and local tax filings, including sales and use tax returns, property tax returns, and income tax returns.
- Perform tax research and analysis to ensure compliance with state and local tax laws and regulations.
- Advise clients on tax planning strategies to minimize liability and optimize state and local tax positions.
- Assist clients with tax audits and other tax controversy matters.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in state and local tax laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop and implement tax planning initiatives.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior staff members.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA or MST (Master of Science in Taxation) certification is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in state and local tax compliance and planning.
- Strong knowledge of state and local tax laws and regulations.
- Experience with tax research tools and software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple client engagements.

Salary : $80K / yr to $97K / yr, salary negotiable
