is seeking a talented and experienced Electrical Power Project Manager to lead exciting projects in the power sector.

As an electrical power project manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the successful execution of electrical power projects helping customer use SEL products and engineering talent to make the grid safer, more reliable, and more efficient.

At SEL, we believe ownership is essential to quality and as a Project Manager, you will lead project lifecycle from proposal development to project closeout and be involved in all aspects of the business.

You’ll work in various sectors, including energy, utilities, data centers, and transportation.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning and Coordination :

  • Develop project plans, including scope, objectives, deliverables, and resource requirements.
  • Develop customer quotes including cost, pricing, and scope.
  • Create and manage project schedules, milestones, and critical paths.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and obstacles that may impact project progress.
  • Conduct regular meetings to provide project updates and address any issues or concerns.

Budget and Cost Control :

  • Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring adherence to cost estimates.
  • Monitor financial performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Evaluate project variations or change requests, assess their impact on budget and schedule, and provide recommendations.

Project Documentation and Reporting :

  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including plans, specifications, progress reports, meeting minutes, and technical records.
  • Prepare project reports, highlighting key milestones, budget status, and any deviations from the original plan.

Client Relationship Management :

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and ensuring their satisfaction.
  • Act as the main point of contact for client communication, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and managing expectations.
  • Provide regular project updates, progress reports, and participate in client meetings or presentations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in project management, particularly in electrical power projects.
  • Knowledge & understanding of electrical power systems, equipment, and industry standards.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
  • Solid problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to think strategically and analytically.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of liaising with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools.

Location

This position is located in Alpharetta, GA or Charlotte, NC. The city is located between the North Georgia Mountains and Atlanta, allowing residents to enjoy the big city, and easy access to outdoor recreation.

However, you won't have to look to Atlanta for big city comforts, Alpharetta is quickly growing and offers amazing shopping, dining, and entertainment.

Salary Range Information

$110,000 - $150,000 per year. We base our starting pay offer on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.

We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the pay range may differ if filled at a different level.
