OVERVIEW
Our Director of Engineering will lead our Manufacturing Engineering & assist with design engineering for our global manufacturing & distribution center sites.
In this role, you will play a pivotal role in defining product and process requirements, driving process improvement initiatives, optimizing production efficiency, and ensuring the highest standards of quality in our manufacturing processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads and mentors a team of design, and manufacturing engineers and technicians, providing guidance, development opportunities, and support to ensure the successful execution of projects, initiatives and line support
- Defines production processes and assists in product design requirements
- Develops and implements manufacturing and transactional processes to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality
- Transforms the business using lean methodologies
- Coordinates with Maintenance Manager on maintenance activities at the site addressing preventative maintenance, capital projects, upgrades / updates
- Collaborates closely with cross-functional teams including CI, production, and quality assurance to drive continuous improvement and innovation in manufacturing processes
- Identifies opportunities for automation and integration of new technologies to streamline production processes and increase productivity
- Leads root cause analysis and corrective action activities to address manufacturing issues and ensure compliance with our quality policy and regulatory standards
- Develops and manages budgets, forecasts and resource allocation for manufacturing engineering projects
- Drives a culture of safety, quality and excellence throughout the manufacturing engineering team and across the organization
- Develops and maintains relationships with 3rd party contracted resources
- Communicates effectively with all levels of the organization
Preferred Education and / or Experience :
Bachelor of Science Degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or relevant discipline and 10+ years of related experience;
or a combination of education and experience.
- Knowledgeable in all aspects of manufacturing, processing, and warehousing
- Strong interest and proven capabilities in taking full accountability for plant performance including management of team, process, reporting, and day-to-day execution of objectives.
- Demonstrated Continuous Improvement, TPM methodologies, and Lean mindset
- Availability for domestic / international travel, up to 10% of the time.
