  • FTE : Full Time, 1.0, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)
  • Shift : Days
  • Pay : $21.49 - $27.94 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

Requirements :

  • High School diploma or GED. Completion of medical interpretation competency test.
  • 2 years of medical interpretation.

Summary :

Provides medical interpretation for patients, staff and guests who are non-English speaking, deaf, or hard of hearing, to help communication with healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities :

  • Acts as a conduit between patient and / or guest and healthcare professional for communication in the patient's preferred language.
  • Accurately interprets medical terminology, including but not limited to anatomy, prescriptions, and procedures.
  • Complies with all privacy and confidentiality policies when communicating patient information.
  • May translate written documentation.

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
