Job Description :
Our client in the healthcare industry is seeking a Senior PHP Developer to join their team. This fully remote position involves a -to month contract and potential conversion to a full-time role.
Responsibilities :
- Modernize Existing PHP Application : Work with the team to update and enhance a long-standing PHP application.
- Review and Documentation : Understand the current application and the planned modernization features to contribute valuable guidance.
- Design and Architecture : Assist in designing and architecting the new PHP application, ensuring best practices and modern solutions.
- Development Contributions : Potentially participate in the development process.
- Provide Expertise : Offer direction, advisory skills, and expert knowledge on upgrading PHP versions and other modernization efforts.
- Stay Current : Keep up with emerging technologies relevant to the role.
Key Responsibilities :
- Understand and review the existing PHP application.
- Assess modernization features and make recommendations.
- Contribute to the design, architecture, and potential development of the new PHP application.
- Provide expert guidance on best practices for modernizing legacy PHP applications.
Required Skills and Experience :
- Senior-level experience with the following : Apache Recent versions of PHP (including PHP-FPM Frameworks (including Symfony) Symfony Messenger for async message queues MySQL REST Services / API calls
- Familiarity with : JIRA Bitbucket (source code repository) Jenkins (CI / CD) Doctrine ORM / DBAL for database abstraction Redis for session storage AWS
