Job Title : Fluids / Mechanical Analyst

Location : Remote Position

We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Remote Specialist in Fluids and Mechanical Analysis. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to our team, working on the cutting edge of technology in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities :

  • The design and development of various types of pressure vessels, ensuring they fit within the allocated vehicle space and integration envelope.
  • The creation of fluid lines and flexible elements suitable for cryogenic and space applications.
  • The generation of detailed drawings, inclusive of tolerance and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) setup.
  • The management of the design release cycle, encompassing drawing release and Design for Manufacture (DFM) reviews.
  • The conduction of comprehensive analysis of primary and secondary spacecraft pressure vessels.
  • The development, refinement, validation, and correlation of Finite Element Models to tests.

Required Qualifications and Skills :

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in predicting / validating structural dynamics and loads, and finite element modeling.
  • A solid understanding of structural static / dynamic fundamentals.
  • Experience in the aerospace, automotive, or spacecraft industry, particularly in areas such as external loads, vibro-acoustic analysis, thermal loading, and analysis using Nastran, Ansys, Abaqus, LS-Dyna, or Optistruct.
  • The ability to solve static and dynamic structural problems using physics-based analytical methods.
  • The ability to maintain positive and professional relationships and contribute to a culture of inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills :

  • Experience with Composite Overwrapped Pressure Vessel (COPV) design and analysis, Metallic Pressure Vessel design and analysis, Fluids Lines design and analysis, Flex Elements design and analysis.
  • Composite design and analysis skills in any thermoset, thermoplastic, metal matrix, and ceramic matrix composites.
  • Experience with ProEngineer Wildfire 4 / Creo Parametric or greater, and its piping / routing module.
  • Experience with Human spaceflight, composites, AIAA S-080 and S-081, and EJMA Ninth and Tenth Edition.
