POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Analyst will add value to the One Tax Team through performance of advanced fuel excise tax (and related fees) compliance activities (monthly, quarterly, annual, etc.
The successful candidate will possess excellent time management skills, a keen eye for detail, and a desire to prepare and analyze returns based on the information provided.
The ideal candidate can work out of one of our offices in Appleton, WI, Houston, TX, or work remotely throughout the United States.*
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare select Federal, state, and local indirect tax returns (motor fuel tax, sales tax, use tax, etc.), general ledger account reconciliations, and related internal reports.
- Assist in determining indirect tax treatment during the customer onboarding process and approve customers for invoicing.
- Review system-identified vendor invoicing discrepancies and work with vendors to resolve issues and recover any overpayments.
- Research, analyze and interpret tax laws and provide written memoranda on various projects and transactions.
- Assist with assigned indirect tax jurisdiction audits
- Other responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required :
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or commensurate experience
- 3-5 years motor fuel tax experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial reports and legal documents
- Strong organizational skills & attention to detail.
- Occasional travel may be required
