A week in the life of a Joint Operations M&S Systems Engineer includes :
- Serve as a dedicated engineer for all joint training events, interoperability testing and sustainment of ARCNet portals in the field at joint locations
- Expert integration between joint training systems and the DTOC's synthetic training environment
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree and five (5) to seven (7) years of related experience; a combination of education and experience can be used in lieu of degree
- SECRET clearance
- Minimum three (3) years in DMO community working with Air Force and Joint DMO partners
- Experience bridging Live, Virtual and Constructive training systems together
- Must be able to become expert user of network routing applications, with expert understanding of connectivity between remote sites to the DTOC, and to the Event Control Centers
- Experience analyzing network traffic and troubleshooting DIS / HLA / TENA packets using Wireshark, DIS Packet Analyzer or similar software tools
- General knowledge of SISO and AF Standards related to Distributive Interactive Simulation (DIS) protocol
- Must have working knowledge of various Air Force and Joint Distributed Training Networks, fundamental knowledge of how various networks function and understanding how to connect to partner networks and systems
- Must have experience working with various DoD simulator architecture / data management (DIS, HLA, TENA, etc.) and how to translate from one to another
- Must have experience working with DIS / HLA / TENA IP-based radio communication solutions and commonly used simulation Image and Environment Generator applications
- Maintain Security+ Certification
