Salary : $19 - $29 / hour or DOE
Our client is a contract manufacturer that specializes in large CNC milling, precision machining and manufacturing high-quality components for various industries.
Large machining capability up to 20,000 lbs. is what they do.
They are seeking a skilled Boring Mill Operator with experience in handling large and heavy parts safely and efficiently to join their machine shop in Davenport, Iowa .
A strong work ethic and a burning desire to be the best would be a plus.

Shifts are as follows :
1st Shift : 6 : 00 am - 2 : 30 pm (M-F)
RESPONSIBILITIES
Produces parts by programming, setting up, and operating a CNC controlled Boring Mill while maintaining equipment & supplies and safety standards.
They are responsible for making components to the customer specifications and recording needed quality records.
- Program, set up, and operate CNC controlled Boring Mills.
- Interpret job orders, blueprints, and engineering plans to plan machining operations.
- Use CAD / CAM software for machine programming.
- Move and set up large parts safely and efficiently, understanding the proper techniques to avoid injury.
- Verify and adjust machine settings to ensure parts meet quality standards.
- Utilize precision measurement tools to check and record dimensions.
- Maintain and troubleshoot equipment, including performing routine maintenance and tool changes.
- Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
- In addition to listed duties, management reserves the discretion to add or modify duties and responsibilities of the position at will.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of experience running Boring Mills, with a strong track record of handling large and heavy parts safely.
- Proven ability to set up and move large parts without compromising safety or efficiency.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
- Skilled in using precision measurement instruments.
- Familiarity with CAD / CAM software.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Strong math and IT skills, including CNC programming capability.
- Excellent hand-to-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions :
- Able to lift to 50 lbs.
- Able to operate overhead cranes for loads over 50lbs.
- Able to stand and / or sit for prolonged periods of time
- The work performed is conducted in a moderate climate-controlled facility with moderate noise levels that are within OSHA limits.
- PPE requirements include safety glasses and steel toe shoes

- Assisting and mentor an apprentice and others in on the job training experience.
