We are currently seeking a proficient Accountant to join our clients team in a contract to hire opportunity in a financial team at a local educational facility.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial principles, excellent analytical skills, and a meticulous attention to detail.
The Accountant will be responsible for managing a range of financial responsibilities to ensure the smooth financial operation of the college.
Responsibilities :
- Maintain financial records, including receipts, invoices, and payroll.
- Perform regular, detailed audits to ensure accuracy in financial documents, expenditures, and investments.
- Forecast revenue and analyze profit margins.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Reconcile bank statements and perform general ledger functions.
- Prepare and manage college budgets.
- Review and implement financial policies.
- Assist in tuition fee collection and record-keeping.
- Work closely with college staff to ensure adherence to financial regulations and legislation.
- Prepare accurate financial reports for review by the senior management team.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in an accounting role is preferred.
- Proficiency with computers, especially bookkeeping software and MS Excel.
- Strong skills in mathematics, databases and financial data analysis.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
