We are seeking a Paralegal to join the Seattle, WA office. Working under the direction of the Paralegal Manager, the Paralegal supports lawyers, performing a variety of functions that may include factual research, document analysis, drafting real estate documents, coordinating title searches, performing title, survey, and zoning review and analysis.
Successful candidates will be self-starters who can work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing the highest quality client service are strongly preferred.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to :
- Prepare transactional closing documents, checklists, significant date memorandums, title objection letters, post-closing memorandums, and closing binders
- Conduct title and survey due diligence review and analysis for complex real estate transactions.
- Coordination and analysis of UCC, litigation, and other public record source materials.
- Manage electronic data room files, including inventory of materials in data room files; experience with HighQ, DropBox, Box and other data room platforms.
- Track real estate development matters in Smartsheets
- Prepare and update matters in Deal Tracker
- Work with title companies to handle recordings in several jurisdictions
- Real estate parcel research in various jurisdictions
- Track transaction details; create and utilize checklists; monitor and follow-up to ensure completion and compliance of all required documentation necessary for real estate closings
- Utilize firm software and technology, specifically any practice-group driven technology
- Examine, organize, summarize, and analyze information relating to particular questions to create a logical and cogent work product
- Investigate factual issues by using a variety of resources, including local libraries, web sites, client repositories, and other outside sources
- Maintains client, matter, or practice group specific libraries in hard copy or electronic format (or both)
- Present results of all projects in effectively written memos, e-mails, or in logical discussion
- Coordinates storage of client information with the firm’s Records Department
- Maintain all administrative standards set by the firm, including the preparation and submittal of daily time entries, attendance at administrative meetings, and other administrative tasks as assigned
Knowledge, skills and abilities required :
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience in the legal field
- Working understanding of legal terminology specific to the real estate practice group
- Experience with title companies
- Expert level skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, and internet research are essential.
- Demonstrated good judgment, decision-making and follow-through skills. Persistence coupled with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated service orientation.
- Outstanding attention to detail, flexibility and creativity.
- Team player who is also self-motivated and can work independently with minimum supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; organized and precise; is able to describe a set of facts in an organized, clear, and unambiguous way.
- Oriented toward continuous learning; adopts evolving technology tools and supports attorneys with same
- Outstanding project management, organizational and planning skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects and meet deadlines.
- High level time management skills to work independently and meet deadlines in an atmosphere of frequent interruptions
- Keep current in practice area industry trends and in the legal profession
- Take initiative in handling projects and anticipating what needs to be done
- Coordinates with vendors and service providers for outside services, if necessary, following the firm’s procurement policies
Working Conditions :
- Manual dexterity required for typing, reaching and lifting of small objects, and operating office equipment.
- Frequent computer use at workstation for extended periods of time.
- Mobility within the office including movement from floor to floor.

Salary : $94,000 - $157,000
