Full Salary Range : USD $71,500.00 / Yr. - USD $154,900.00 / Yr.

Position Summary

The Human Resources Analyst is a collaborative team member who works with senior management to strategize and advise on employment issues related to staff recruitment at all levels, compensation, employee relations, discipline, dismissals, diversity, and grievances.

Provide guidance on the interpretation of policies and governmental regulations, conduct interviews with employees and managers, and compose complex and confidential correspondence regarding allegations of discrimination, harassment, and other related issues.

The Human Resources Analyst performs technical and analytical activities related to the administration of leaves of absence, accruals, and workers' compensation case management, ensuring compliance with departmental and University policies, procedures, and guidelines.

As needed, they also serve as backup for the administration / processing of bi-weekly and monthly payrolls for around 200+ employees.

The Human Resources Analyst conducts research and data analysis in support of School projects, initiatives, and decision-making.

They maintain School-specific websites, manage / coordinate badge issuance and annual parking processes, and serve as backup for the Staff Human Resources Manager when necessary.

The Human Resources Analyst is also the School liaison for Campus Human Resources / Benefits Office, Central Resource Unit, Employee and Labor Relations, UCPath, and various other campus offices.

Salary & Compensation

UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.

Qualifications

  • Three (3) Years 3+ years of experience in human resources, including employee relations, personnel policies, collective bargaining agreements and payroll processing. (Required)
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office and related business software programs such as UCPath, TRS, COGNOS CDW, JDXpert, iCIMS, Online Financial System Reports (OFSR), LMS, and Financial Aid and Scholarships websites. (Preferred)
  • Demonstrated skill in organizing and coordinating multiple projects and assignments and establishing or adjusting priorities to accurately reflect the importance of the job and to meet campus / departmental deadlines and following through on assignments when faced with conflicting workplace demands. (Required)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of human resource practices, policies and procedures in a complex organization in the areas of employment, compensation, benefits, workers' compensation, employee relations, etc. (Required)
  • Demonstrated experience in performing standard payroll operations, including auditing time, computing, and preparing payrolls and reconciling errors. (Required)
  • Demonstrated skill in maintaining a congenial, helpful attitude when faced with difficult situations and to respond with tact and sensitivity in electronic and in-person communications. (Required)
  • Excellent oral communication skills to convey and / or solicit information and to effectively and persuasively articulate and explain policies, procedures and expectations to faculty, staff, students and other departments. (Required)
  • Demonstrated skill in working in a fast paced, high-volume office and ability to work under the pressure of frequent interruptions and / or distractions. (Required)
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of federal and state employment laws, bargaining units and contracts, I-9 certification requirements and Glacier, FMLA, CFRA, PDL and Workers' Compensation. (Required)
  • Skill in writing concise, accurate, understandable, and grammatically correct analytical reports, policy and procedure documentation, and correspondence. (Required)
  • Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills, which include analyzing information, practices, procedures, problems, and situations to recognize alternatives and consequences, formulate logical and objective conclusions, and make recommendations. (Required)
  • Knowledge of data management to input and retrieve data and generate statistics and reports via complex linked queries. (Required)

Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training. (Required)
