The Animal Emergency & Referral Center of Minnesota (AERC-MN) is seeking a full-time Human Resources Manager to join our team.

Role Title : Human Resources Manager
Department : Operations
Schedule : Monday - Friday. Daytime hours with possible evening, weekend, overnight, or holidays. Eligible for remote / hybrid work after 32 office hours per week.

The purpose of the Human Resources Manager is to oversee and manage various aspects of the HR function. They play a crucial role in maintaining a productive, motivated, and engaged team.
The HR Manager protects the company by ensuring legal and ethical standards. This person is a subject matter expert in human resource topics and can assist the organization and leadership team in compliance, innovation, and growth.
Your Skills & Experiences : Who are we looking for?
Education
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or similar discipline, or SHRM-SCP / SPHR
- Three years management experience required
- Veterinary experience preferred
Teamwork and Development
- Strong interest in leadership, mentoring, and team building skills
- Ability to influence without authority
- Show initiative and commitment to ongoing process improvement
- Performs work under minimal supervision in a high stress environment
- Handles complex issues and problems, seeking assistance when needed
- Subject matter expert on customer programs, portals and expectations
- Strong ability to analyze trends and find opportunities
Human Resources
- You have a passion for all things related to HR. Including, but not limited to recruiting, HRIS system maintenance, assist with payroll, benefits and workman comp, reviews, training, coaching, disciplinary issues, and terminations
- You will attend regularly assigned meetings with other leadership members
- You will maintain and improve the Team Member Guidebook and other protocols, policies and procedures
- You will execute personnel procedures and policies in accordance with local, state, and federal laws
- You will take on an advisory role for leadership and team members surrounding employment leaves, health issues, conduct, grievances, and organizational change
- You will assist in direction of team member engagement programs, including holiday celebrations
- You will participate in development of HR systems, metrics and reports
- You will ensure compliance with local and national regulations and applicable employment laws; update policies when needed

- This is a non animal handling role. Although you will not physically be handling patients often, you will work closely alongside them while focusing efforts to providing the best client care and support possible to both clients and the referring community.
