CRM Business Analyst
Cooley is seeking a CRM Business Analyst to join the IS Market Data Management team.
Position summary : Cooley Information Services (IS) embraces a culture of customer service excellence and all members of the department are expected to move this agenda forward.
To that end, the CRM Business Analyst is expected to recognize that the Cooley IS department is a service organization first and foremost and will be evaluated on this requirement equal in importance to the technical or operational responsibilities outlined in this document.
Under the supervision of the CRM Services Manager, the CRM Business Analyst will be a driving force in optimizing our Salesforce platform to streamline processes and deliver data-driven insights.
Your understanding of Sales Cloud, reporting expertise, and legal industry experience (or willingness to learn) will be crucial for supporting our business development, marketing, and operations teams.
Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :
Position responsibilities :
Business Process Analysis : Collaborate with legal teams (e.g., business development, operations, marketing) to understand their business needs, challenges, and opportunities.
Document, analyze, and map current business processes within the context of Salesforce capabilities
- Requirements Gathering and Solution Design : Translate business needs into clear requirements that leverage standard Salesforce functionality, custom configurations, and potential integrations with legal-specific tools
- Reporting and Analytics : Develop robust Salesforce dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights into business development performance, lead generation, conversion rates, and other key performance indicators
- Backlog Management and Prioritization : Support the CRM Services Manager in maintaining the Salesforce product backlog.
Collaborate to prioritize user stories, ensuring alignment with business objectives and value delivery
User Training and Support : Create user-friendly training guides and documentation. Conduct training sessions for new and existing users on Salesforce best practices and tailored workflows.
Provide ongoing support to resolve user issues
- Data Integrity : Maintain data accuracy in Salesforce, develop data cleansing processes, and implement data quality controls
- Project Collaboration : Work closely with project managers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of Salesforce initiatives and ongoing enhancements
- All other duties as assigned or required
Skills and experience :
Required :
- After orientation at Cooley LLP, exhibit proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage and other firm applications
- Available to work overtime, as required
- 3+ years direct applicable experience (hands-on experience with Salesforce, preferably with a focus on Sales Cloud)
Preferred :
- Bachelor's degree in a business or technology-related field
- Experience in a professional services or law firm environment
- Salesforce Certifications such as Salesforce Certified Administrator, Salesforce Certified Business Analyst, Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder, Salesforce Certified Sales Cloud Consultant
- Experience with Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (Pardot) is a plus

- An understanding of the value of data and an eye for uncovering insights that will help drive business growth
- Proficiency with data modeling, SOQL, object relationships, and other Salesforce data management concepts to ensure optimal data structure and reporting.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate and communicate with staff at all levels.
- In-depth knowledge of Salesforce configuration, customization, process automation, and object modeling.
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into technical specifications.
- Superior communication skills with the ability to engage legal professionals, business users, and technical teams.
- Intellectual curiosity with the ability to derive connections and synthesize information and facts.

Cooley offers a competitive compensation and excellent benefits package and is committed to fair and equitable employment practices. EOE.
The expected hourly pay range for this position with a work schedule of 40 hours per week is $38.50 - $56.50 ($80,080.00 - $117,520.
00 annually). Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience and skillset of the candidate.
