Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and assist in negotiating general and commercial agreements.
- Draft and review documents required for corporate transactions.
- Provide legal advice to the business in relation to commercial law, corporate law, antitrust law, intellectual property law, labor & employment law, immigration law, and product liability issues.
- Manage investigations, litigations, and disputes.
- Manage corporate formality and regulatory reporting work.
- Review and establish internal polices and guidelines based on legal standards and the Company's guidelines (including conducting internal audits to verify compliance with policies and guidelines).
- Monitor legislation, regulations, and compliance matters that could impact the business.
- Provide and supervise legal training to internal clients.
- Manage performance, relationship, and budget with external counsel.
- Coordinate with the Company's Legal Team in Korea.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in the U.S or equivalent degree from non-U.S. foreign law school.
- Qualified to practice law in any state of the U.S.
- At least 2 years’ experience in private practice and / or in-house.
- Experience in automotive industry and / or labor & employment law preferred.
- Excellent drafting and verbal / written communication skills in both English and Korean.
- Excellent strategic and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated commercial awareness and the ability to apply legal knowledge and experience within a dynamic commercial environment.
- Able to manage expectations and deadlines and deliver within an appropriate timeframe.
- Able to manage conflicts and stressful situations in an efficient way.
- Able to collaborate efficiently across different teams and departments.
