JD : Responsibilities :
Responsibilities :
- Develop and maintain the technical architecture and strategies for GIS systems, including data models, system integrations, and infrastructure design
- Evaluate and recommend GIS technologies, software, and tools to support organizational needs and objectives
- Collaborate with stakeholders, project teams, and subject matter experts to gather requirements and define technical solutions
- Design and implement GIS data management strategies, including data governance, quality assurance, and security protocols
- Oversee the development and deployment of GIS applications, services, and tools, ensuring adherence to architectural standards and best practices
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to GIS development teams and technical staff
- Conduct research and stay up-to-date with emerging GIS technologies, trends, and industry developments
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, and guidelines for GIS systems and processes
- Participate in the planning and execution of GIS projects, including resource allocation, risk management, and performance monitoring
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Geographic Information Systems, or a related field
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in GIS system architecture, design, and implementation
- Deep understanding of GIS data models, spatial analysis techniques, and cartographic principles
- Proficient in programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, SQL) and scripting for GIS automation and customization
- Strong knowledge of database management systems, data warehousing, and data integration principles
- Experience with enterprise GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS Enterprise, FME Server, GeoServer)
- Familiarity with cloud-based GIS technologies and deployment models
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Proven leadership and project management skills
Preferred Qualifications :
- Master's degree in GIS, Computer Science, or a related field
- Professional certifications (e.g., GISP, TOGAF, or vendor-specific certifications)
- Experience in specific domains (e.g., utilities, transportation, environmental, defense)
- Knowledge of web-based GIS technologies (e.g., ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Web AppBuilder)
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and agile software development methodologie
