Government Contracts Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

Firm Advice is excited to announce an outstanding opportunity with a global, publicly traded leader in communications technology.

We are seeking a highly skilled Government Procurement Professional to join our dynamic legal department in a rapidly evolving industry.

This senior-level position will collaborate closely with high-level executives across diverse functions, including Finance, HR, Engineering, Supply Chain, IT, and Project Management.

The successful candidate will spearhead the development and implementation of government subcontracting processes, establishing clear objectives and adopting industry best practices to drive organizational success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage a team of individual contributors in optimizing government subcontracting processes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure compliance with federal regulations and internal policies.
  • Develop and implement strategic objectives for subcontracting initiatives, aligning with the company’s overall goals.
  • Mentor and foster a culture of collaboration and excellence within cross-functional teams.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices to continuously enhance procurement strategies.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is preferred; advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., CPCM or CFCM) are advantageous.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in government procurement and subcontracting, with a strong focus on Department of Defense (DoD) regulations.
  • In-depth knowledge of FAR / DFAR, particularly FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 15 regarding commercial items.
  • Proficient in tools, processes, and software that facilitate federal government contracting and export activities, particularly CPSR compliance.
  • Prior management experience is preferred; however, we are willing to develop leadership skills in exceptionally qualified candidates.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and mentor cross-functional teams while effectively leading projects.
  • U.S. Department of Defense security clearance, or the capability to obtain and maintain one.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
