LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a growing organization, and they are seeking a highly motivated Bilingual EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) Specialist to join their team in Streamwood, IL.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in EHS, preferably in the food manufacturing industry, and be fluent in both English and Spanish.

The EHS Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, maintaining a safe work environment, and promoting a culture of safety and environmental mindfulness.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Review and update lockout / tagout procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential safety and environmental hazards and ensure compliance with EHS standards.
  • Provide guidance and support to management and employees on EHS-related issues, including hazard identification, risk assessment, and control measures.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees at all levels of the organization, including new hire orientation, refresher training, and specialized training as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and standards, including recordkeeping, reporting, and documentation requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement EHS initiatives and drive continuous improvement in EHS performance.
  • Interact with 1000+ employees at all levels of the organization to promote safety awareness and environmental responsibility.
  • Take charge of EHS processes while also reporting issues in a timely manner to ensure prompt resolution.
  • Maintain compliance with all environmental permits and standards, including air, water, and waste management requirements.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office and Excel for data analysis, reporting, and documentation.

Qualifications and Skills :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in EHS, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English, both written and verbal, is required.
  • Experience with OSHA regulations and standards, including recordkeeping and reporting requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team setting and interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to take initiative and drive process improvements while also reporting issues in a timely manner.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Excel for data analysis, reporting, and documentation.
  • Understanding of machines and procedures set up in a manufacturing environment.
