As a Classroom Teacher, you will :
- Teach a classroom of students with learning and attention challenges; create written weekly planner detailing instruction and class schedule.
- Conduct comprehensive review of each student’s file and conversations with parents and specialists in order to develop a written personalized learning plan for each student.
- Take time to reflect on instruction and share reflections with teaching partner as appropriate in order to continually deliver effective instruction;
note reflections in student’s file as adjustments and interventions are implemented.
- Formally and informally assess each child to fully understand the student’s strengths and challenges; keep written track of these in student’s file.
- Collaborate with colleagues throughout the school and CHC in order to deliver effective instruction and ensure students are reaching their learning goals.
- Plan instruction to meet multiple modes of learning (instruction, student expression and student engagement) as evidenced in written weekly planner.
- Recognize each student’s strengths and teach to those strengths by creating a written strength-based profile for each student.
- Closely monitors classroom budget.
- Fully participates in all school activities (including parent ed classes).
- Attend Sand Hill School and CHC identified special events and activities.
- Participate in Parent Visits as assigned.
- Willingly participate in review / reflection / evaluation process.
- Develop collegiality within and across disciplines at CHC to build rapport and professional collaboration with the larger CHC staff.
- Develop collegial relationships with outside professionals to promote cross referrals.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

- Are skilled in delivering instruction that is developmentally appropriate, as well as direct & explicit, multisensory, appropriately paced as well as structured & systematic.
- Set individual student goals and regularly monitor and track student learning to ensure students are progressing in meeting goals.
- Willing and eager to use technology to support learning, instruction, and productivity.

Education / Experience :
- At least 5 years of classroom teaching experience.
- Master’s degree in relevant field preferred.
- Either a special education, single subject math, or single subject science certification / credential OR is working toward earning certification / credential.
- Has worked with middle school students with learning differences.
- Worked in a Special Education setting (preferred).
- Technological skills (Google classroom, Google Suite).
Working Conditions : Physical Requirements : Ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time for instruction and supervision.
Special Job Requirements : Flexibility will be required in work schedule. Contact with Others : Extensive interpersonal interaction with peers and outside contacts.
Compensation : Range : $70,000-$95,000 per yearPay Type : Salary* The starting base salary for this position is as shown above.
The actual base salary is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs, and market demand.
This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
