Overview :
A leading organization in innovative data management solutions is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our dynamic team on a contract to hire basis.
The ideal candidate will be CCIE certified and have extensive experience in hosted datacenter support. This position requires the ability to commute to our Cambridge, MA office on a hybrid schedule.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure in hosted datacenter environments.
- Troubleshoot complex network issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Ensure high availability and optimal performance of network systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new projects and initiatives.
- Implement network security measures and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Conduct network performance tuning and capacity planning.
- Create and maintain detailed network documentation and diagrams.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior network engineers.
Qualifications :
- CCIE certification is required.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in network engineering.
- Proven experience in hosted datacenter support.
- Extensive knowledge of network protocols, including BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and VPN.
- Strong experience with network hardware, such as Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Familiarity with cloud networking and virtualization technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Skills :
- Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ansible).
- Knowledge of SDN and NFV technologies.
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools.
- Previous experience in a leadership or mentoring role.
