POSITION OVERVIEW :
The Sourcing Manager is responsible for handling the company’s sourcing activities from initial supplier selection and qualification to the successful on-time delivery of the quality product.
The successful candidate will be able to appraise and improve our sourcing activities by analyzing the company’s spending, and supply partnerships and constantly exploring new possibilities.
The position is responsible for overseeing Supplier relationships and developing a sourcing team with robust processes and innovative tools, designed to support the needs of the business.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Developing and articulating a rolling 3-year sourcing strategy targeted suppliers, supply countryof origins, pricing targets
- Understanding of all factors impacting total landed cost
- Leads by example both in thoughts and actions and is perceived as a partner by internal peersand customers
- Maintaining relationships with suppliers while continually scouting for additional vendors via networks, EXPOs, webinars, etc.
- Constantly evaluating ways to improve and enhance the quality of products purchased and thecost and timeliness of deliveries
- Working closely with the company legal department to make sure contracts and terms arefavorable and maintained
- Responsible for communications and negotiations with suppliers.
- Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.
- Experience in risk management, strategic planning, and change management
- Experience managing conflicting interests and resolving complex organizational issues
- Conducting cost analyses and setting benchmarks for improvement
- Negotiates prices for raw materials and delivery with suppliers
- Capable of performing financial analysis to create total cost versus benefit presentations
- Supervising a sourcing team and delegating tasks when necessary
- Train and mentor employees, including reinforcement of company policies & guidelines.
- Participates as an active member of the product development team, providing information and guidance on the availability and cost of supplies and materials, and supporting on-time product launches
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
- Bachelor’s degree in a supply chain, financial, or engineering curriculum preferred
- 5+ years’ experience in supply chain management in a manufacturing environment
- Understanding of metrics management and can present examples of successful metrics-driven transformations
- Experience creating, and successfully managing, inventory reduction plans, and driving healthier on-hand inventory profiles
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, and internal customers.
- Strong supervisory or leadership skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Thorough understanding of company products and supply chain logistics.
