Responsibilities :
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations
- Provide medication management and adjustment
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
- Ensure the highest quality of care for consumers
- Prescribe medications and treatments with attention to existing medical diagnoses and concomitant therapies.
- Meet with patients in a timely manner in order to monitor progress and recommend necessary changes to their medication regimen and treatment interventions.
- Document all evaluations of and interactions with patients including the administration of medications and treatments within 24 hours.
- Use our web-based tracking system to document recommendations for treatment and / or referrals to provide the capability to easily share patient progress with PCPs and other treating providers.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team that provides primary care to employees and consumer
- Perform consumer’s histories and physicals, risk factor assessment, ordering of therapeutic and diagnostic tests; and attend to consultations and appointments
Requirements :
- Active NP licensure in Washington DC
- Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification in good standing and current state nursing license
- Active DEA Certificate / License
- Knowledge of medical diagnoses, appropriate treatments and medical terminology, approved detoxification regimens, addiction medicine and substance abuse disorders, cooccurring disorders, DSM Criteria and terminology
- Experience working with underserved, transient populations and clinical co morbidities such as co-existing mental health, substance abuse and physical health conditions
- Ability to quickly synthesize medical and psychiatric data and formulate effective and evidence-based clinical recommendations
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
