Responsibilities :

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations
• Provide medication management and adjustment
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
• Ensure the highest quality of care for consumers
• Prescribe medications and treatments with attention to existing medical diagnoses and concomitant therapies.
• Meet with patients in a timely manner in order to monitor progress and recommend necessary changes to their medication regimen and treatment interventions.
• Document all evaluations of and interactions with patients including the administration of medications and treatments within 24 hours.
• Use our web-based tracking system to document recommendations for treatment and / or referrals to provide the capability to easily share patient progress with PCPs and other treating providers.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team that provides primary care to employees and consumer
• Perform consumer’s histories and physicals, risk factor assessment, ordering of therapeutic and diagnostic tests; and attend to consultations and appointments

Requirements :

• Active NP licensure in Washington DC
• Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification in good standing and current state nursing license
• Active DEA Certificate / License
• Knowledge of medical diagnoses, appropriate treatments and medical terminology, approved detoxification regimens, addiction medicine and substance abuse disorders, cooccurring disorders, DSM Criteria and terminology
• Experience working with underserved, transient populations and clinical co morbidities such as co-existing mental health, substance abuse and physical health conditions
• Ability to quickly synthesize medical and psychiatric data and formulate effective and evidence-based clinical recommendations
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
