Position Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to fill the role of Vice President, Business Development. This key leadership position creates and executes enterprise-level plans and processes to diversify revenue and expand markets for a dynamic and growing organization.

The successful candidate will be an active, transparent, collaborative, and highly engaged leader, capable of initiating and driving new business to ensure the achievement of strategic goals and revenue objectives.

As the VP, Business Development, you will lead the following teams / functions within the department :

Business Development : Establish and lead a business development function focused on market research, market analysis, business plan development, strategic planning, and federal contracting capture and proposal.

This team researches and analyzes the business environment, competitors, and customers to develop new ideas for services, product stratification, pricing strategies, and business models.

Service Lines : A center of excellence style team that grows a variety of services focused on generating revenue growth, customer relationships, and finding new offerings for our customer base.

This team is focused on generating new business opportunities within each service line, while the operational responsibility for delivery is on the operational / delivery departments.

UNOS Labs : Our virtual, collaborative research center where we develop and test new products and tools to drive growth in our products and service lines.

Minimum Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience managing and leading multiple departments / functions within an organization.
  • 8 years of people management experience with a minimum of 3 years managing managers.

Critical Skills :

  • Proven experience in leadership roles that encompass both strategic and operational responsibilities, including new business plan development and execution.
  • Strong experience in directing financial feasibility studies, proposal development, and negotiating new business opportunities.
  • A track record of establishing and leading business / product development functions and utilizing innovative solutions to support strategic objectives.
  • Expertise in building and fostering internal cultures of innovation and solution-oriented outcomes.
  • A keen ability to grow and enhance processes and drive efficiencies in dynamic and growth-oriented companies.
  • Demonstrated experience in dynamic and growth-oriented companies.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate new business opportunities, understand the business ecosystem, and assess business fit for growth of the enterprise.
  • Adept at balancing numerous stakeholder interests and initiatives simultaneously.
  • Adept at navigating teams through ambiguity.
  • Excellent communicator that is comfortable meeting new people, networking, and driving new relationships with minimal oversight.
  • Proficiency in resource planning, analytical skills, technical skills, written and verbal communication skills, and problem-solving skills.

Education

Advanced degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field of study, or 4-year degree and equivalent level of professional experience required.
