job summary :
A CAD / CAE Technician for a medical devices and equipment manufacturing company is needed in the Ventura, CA area. This role involves preparing and maintaining detailed CAD drawings, working closely with design teams, and requires a minimum of 3 years of experience or relevant education, with strong skills in Solidworks and knowledge of CAM programming and 3D scanning being highly desirable.
responsibilities :
- Prepares and maintains detailed design drawings, schematics, or specifications using computer-aided design software.
- Works closely with design originators (e.g., engineers, designers) to resolve design details or discrepancies.
- Prepares drawings of unusual, complex, or original designs requiring high precision using CAD or CAE equipment.
- Creates, modifies, and controls detailed two- and three-dimensional parts and assembly drawings from sketches, plans, and instructions.
- Develops and maintains drafting standards and procedures.
Knowledge and Skills Required :
- Acquired through experience, specialized education, or training.
- Clearly defined procedures and tasks with guidelines for decision-making.
- Good knowledge and comprehensive understanding of processes, procedures, and systems.
- Basic understanding of the underlying concepts and principles of the job.
- Combination of job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience.
- Works within well-defined procedures involving a variety of work routines.
Experience and Education :
- Minimum of 3 or more years of experience required.
- 2-5 years of direct industrial experience or AS, BS in engineering, technology, or other technical fields.
- Recent graduates looking to start building their industrial experience are encouraged to apply.
Additional Job Details :
- strong basic skills in Solidworks or other similar parametric 3D solid modeling packages (e.g., Creo, Inventor).
- Capable of coping in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, stressful environment.
- strong knowledge of the Windows operating system, including file management.
- Onsite position only.
Desired Requirements :
- CAM programming skills (e.g., MasterCAM, SurfCAM) are highly desirable.
- Experience with medical devices and cGMP.
- Familiarity with 3D scanners (e.g., Peel, Keyence) or other similar data acquisition cameras.
- Prior experience working in manufacturing.
- Candidate will also be trained on CAM programming and scanning.
