Qualifications
- At least 3+ years of experience
- Working knowledge of relevant data privacy laws in the US (., CCPA / CPRA, CPA, GLBA, HIPAA, and abroad (., ePrivacy Directive, EU AI Act, GDPR, PIPEDA,
- A learning mindset and comfort operating in the gray
- Experience providing legal support in the private sector or at a law firm
- Ability to communicate with business partners about regulatory obligations, risk management processes and effect change
- Concise and efficient communicator
- Experience in-house preferred
- JD and membership in good standing with at least one US State Bar
- IAPP Privacy certification preferred, but not required
Responsibilities
Working as a member of the Privacy Data Governance team, you will :
- Partner with senior attorneys to provide legal counsel for day-to-day data governance advice, leveraging a privacy mindset to assess and advise on legal risk, and manage engagement with internal and external stakeholders
- Analyze and contribute toward creating the Company’s understanding of the impact emerging technology, including Artificial Intelligence and GenerativeAI, on our data governance program
- Assist with the enhancement and automation of Intuit’s processes to advance its data governance initiatives including data subject access rights, third party risk assessments, worker data, privacy impact assessments, and international data transfer management
- Assist with the negotiation of data protection addenda and other contractual collateral concerning the protection of personal information
- Interface with external counsel to align Company practices with emerging requirements in the global data protection landscape
- Document requirements and formalize processes concerning responsible data management and enablement, privacy certification obligations
- Establish and build relationships with key stakeholders including with privacy product management, engineering, design, compliance and operations teams
- Contribute toward the communication of the Data Privacy team’s mission and vision to internal partners and stakeholders
- Make suggestions to improve internal processes and practices supporting the Data Governance and larger Privacy program
- Learn and grow as part of a collaborative and diverse Data Privacy team
Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is Bay Area California $172,500 - 233,500, Southern California $161,500 - 218,500.
This position will be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs .
