The anticipated yearly salary range for this position is $ 85,000 - $ 1 15 ,000 .
About the role :
Responsible for overseeing the design and construction process of capital improvement projects, ensuring they align with university, state, and federal standards and are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality.
These high-profile projects often involve complex, multi-phase initiatives with significant impacts on university operations, requiring coordination among various disciplines and departments.
Project budgets typically range from $5 million to $10 million.
How you will spend your time :
Develop project scopes of work, including program requirements.
- Facilitate effective project plan reviews and explain the design and construction process to team members.
- Advise clients on project requirements and suggestions.
- Manage and supervise the design and construction processes for multiple projects.
- Review and assess the work and performance of design professionals and contractors.
- Ensure code compliance and adherence to campus standards and industry best practices.
- Develop, manage, and interpret contract documents, providing advice on dispute resolution.
- Review bids, recommend contract awards, and manage purchase orders and contract changes.
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring quality, functionality, and aesthetic goals within approved budgets.
- Develop and manage project schedules to meet desired completion dates.
- Provide expert advice on constructability and schedule impacts during the design phase.
- Actively manage schedules and enforce contract requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead thorough and effective project coordination among all internal and external participants.
- Communicate project status, decisions, and changes effectively to all team members and stakeholders.
- Monitor and ensure project budget requirements are met, including encumbrances, expenditures, and funding alignment.
- Provide direction, assignments, feedback, coaching, and counseling to ensure project outcomes are achieved.
- Train and mentor team members on project management skills.
- May provide functional and / or administrative supervision of staff as assigned.
- Analyze, monitor, and prepare financial data, information, and reports to ensure project budgets are met.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Architecture , Engineering, or Construction Management and five years of related experience; or a high school diploma / equivalency and nine years of related experience.
Note : or a combination of related post-high school education and experience equal to nine years in the same.)
A valid State of Florida or Georgia driver's license or the ability to obtain prior to hire.
