The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) performs routine and critical respiratory care procedures under the supervision of a Respiratory Care Manager and Medical Director.
Responsible for performance and competency of care for patients across all age groups. This position offers a special summer incentive : a sign-on bonus of $15,000 and free health insurance for the rest of the year.
- Evaluate and deliver respiratory care as per patient care plans
- Administer and chart the effects of routine respiratory therapy and medication
- Setup, maintain, and chart the usage of oxygen, aerosol / humidity therapy, and ventilator therapy
- Provide ventilator support and airway management for patients
- Perform arterial and capillary blood gas analysis (following Medical Director approval)
- Complete assessments on ventilator patients and other patients on respiratory care services
- Process and maintain respiratory equipment
Additionally, the role involves evaluating patients for routine respiratory care therapy in inpatient units, the emergency room, and ICU, participating in transport teams, obtaining and analyzing blood gases, and assisting with cleaning and stocking respiratory care-related supplies.
