Job Title : Technical Engineer

Location : Hartford, CT

Duration : 6 month contract to hire

Pay : $45 - $55 per hour depending on experience W2 only

Project :

Support connectivity and updates in field offices

Typical Duties :

• Work with circuit vendors-AT&T, Verizon, etc.
• Support point to point, experience with firewall systems is helpful
• Support transitioning to one internet provider in field offices

What You'll Do :

Responsible for design, engineering, configuration, analysis, and troubleshooting of the company’s cloud and on-prem network infrastructure and services.

This includes switches, routers, firewalls, SDWAN, WAN protocols, and dynamic routing.

• Responsible for the implementation of network solutions in any of the following environments to support business applications : Cloud (AWS / Azure / GCP), Global Wide Area Network, Core Data Center Network, Remote / Campus / Offshore Offices, Internet / DMZ, Business to Business connections
• Ensure that industry best practices and methodologies are applied to design, deployment and operations of infrastructure technology
• Develops tactics and operational plans in alignment with strategic objectives for assigned technologies and projects
• Maintain detailed documentation of IT infrastructure
• Drives the execution of departmental and corporate programs
• Maintain quality and reliability of our network while developing innovative ways to automate
• Ensure a high level of availability for network services, monitoring existing hardware / software, network performance and provide prompt response to issues
• Build, leverage, and maintain alliances across technical and business communities to achieve efficient and effective results
• Collaborate with customer and peers to proactively identify potential issues and areas of improvement in existing network environment
• Provide third level of support with troubleshooting issues affecting our network
• Contribute to research, evaluation and recommendations of new technologies or redesign of existing solutions
• Gaining industry experience and exposure to seed new ideas with respect to the company’s best interests
• Present findings, updates and recommendations to all levels of management, up to and including C level executives
• Evaluates systems specifications regarding customer requirements, transforming specifications into cost-effective, technically correct solutions.
• Prioritizes work and manages projects within established budget objectives and customer priorities.
• Responsible for establishing and managing to established quality control and security protocols.
• Provides the division, department and business area management with timely and accurate information regarding the status and performance of the assigned project(s).
• Leverages technology to develop, redesign and / or implement optimal technology solutions.
• Multi-tasks, prioritizes according to business priorities and production availability requirements.
• Other duties as assigned
