Position Overview :

My client is seeking a skilled Photonics Engineer to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in designing, developing, and optimizing photonics systems that are crucial to the company's quantum computing technologies.

This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the performance and scalability of quantum processors and communication systems.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Design & Development : The Photonics Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing photonics systems and components, including waveguides, couplers, and detectors, specifically tailored for quantum computing applications.
  • Integration : The role involves close collaboration with quantum physicists and engineers to ensure the seamless integration of photonics systems with quantum processors, optimizing operation and performance.
  • Testing & Optimization : Conducting experimental testing, analyzing data, and optimizing photonics systems to meet high performance and reliability standards will be key responsibilities.
  • Innovation : The engineer will stay current with advancements in photonics and quantum technologies, contributing innovative solutions to address technical challenges.
  • Collaboration : Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including theoretical and experimental physicists, electrical engineers, and software developers, will be essential to advancing QuantumTech Innovations’ quantum computing platforms.
  • Documentation : Maintaining detailed documentation of design processes, experimental results, and technical reports is required.

Qualifications :

  • Education : A Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Optics, Photonics, Physics, or a related field is required.
  • Experience : At least 3 years of experience in photonics engineering, with a focus on quantum technologies or advanced optics preferred.
  • Technical Skills : Proficiency in photonics design, optical system integration, and experimental techniques, with experience using tools such as MATLAB, Python, and optical simulation software.
  • Knowledge : A deep understanding of quantum optics, quantum communication, and optical components used in quantum systems is essential.
  • Problem-Solving : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to tackle complex technical challenges.
  • Communication : Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
