Stone Coast Fund Services has an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Chief Financial Officer to join us as we move into our next phase of growth.
Position Overview
Our Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will lead all financial aspects of the company and will function as a strategic business partner to the executive team and senior management.
To that end, our CFO will be a key financial strategist and analyst for the organization, establish credibility quickly by bringing valuable insights through financial acumen and business-building experience, and will be instrumental in helping us set strategy and meet financial targets.
As important, this person will be an approachable and collaborative colleague who enjoys working with all levels of the company.
Success will entail the development and oversight of the accounting and finance function and its team members to consistently provide precision, clarity, predictability, and insight to all financial aspects of the business.
In turn, this will involve the rapid and thoughtful development of financial and technical infrastructure (i.e., personnel, processes, tools) that will enable the organization to significantly scale and enhance the financial decision-making capabilities of the organization.
Specific Job Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes.
- Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate monthly GAAP and management financial reporting and supplemental financial analyses.
- Develop tools and systems to track KPI metrics and provide financial insights and recommendations based on that data.
- Support and collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Operations to align financial strategies with business objectives and make actionable data-driven recommendations.
- Support the growth of the business through financial analysis of organic and inorganic growth opportunities.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to identify trends and risks.
- Recruit and lead a high-performing team, fostering professional development, collaboration, and a culture of excellence in financial management.
- Oversee all aspects of corporate accounting, including development and enforcement of rigorous internal controls, management and reconciliation of all balance sheet items such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, accruals, and fixed assets, and all cash management and bill-paying activities.
- Manage corporate banking relationships, ensuring that bank capabilities align with the company’s current and future needs.
- Manage corporate tax compliance, including liaising with our third-party tax preparer and tax counsel and ensuring compliance with federal, international, and multi-state tax filing obligations pertaining to entity-level and composite taxes.
- Coordinate annual independent financial statement audits ensuring preparation of all audit support and draft financial statements.
Remote Work Flexibility
The CFO is a senior and highly visible position. As such, while this position offers remote work flexibility, success in this position and relationships with colleagues will be enhanced by regular time in the office.
Qualifications and Experience
- 15+ years of total experience and a strong track record as CFO of a closely held high-growth company.
- Proven ability to hire and lead accounting and finance teams through significant growth where systems, processes, and people were adapted to enable successful scaling for growth.
- Experience in comparable positions with an investment manager, securities operations firm, or adjacent financial services firm preferred.
Education Requirements
Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, or a related field of study; M.B.A., and / or C.P.A. are desirable.
