Degree or diploma from a professional program approved by the legally designated state accrediting
agency at the time the program was completed by the applicant.
Certifications
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
License / Registration.
Possess a current, valid, unrestricted license in a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of
Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States, throughout the term of this contract.
Motor Vehicle Operator’s License.
Shall possess a valid state driver’s license throughout the term of this contract.
Medical Evaluation : Provide a fitness for duty certificate issued by a licensed physician to perform
the proposed job without significant risk to personal health or the health and safety of others if
requested by the facility.
o Provide healthcare, counseling and education for families of childbearing years, women from
menarche through menopause, for women with gynecological problems and also for normal
neonates.
o Perform and / or reviews health histories and performs assessment of the woman during antepartum,
intrapartum, and postpartum.
o Identify indicators of risk in pregnancy and performs appropriate interventions.
o Perform routine laboratory, radiology, screening and therapeutic procedures.
o Implements the plan of care within prescribed interventions and procedures as appropriate.
o Prescribe appropriate medications and instructs patients effectively in their use during antepartum,
intrapartum and postpartum.
o Refer individuals for consultation when appropriate; prescribes and carries out therapy in
conformance with approved clinical privileges and Billings Area / IHS policy.
o Educate individuals in the nature of health related conditions, recommended therapy, and the
general promotion of health and prevention of illness / disease.
o Conduct initial and periodic health examinations related to women’s health for finding physical
defects in need of correction, and prescribes and implements remedial treatments required to
correct these defects.
o Administer immunizations to patients in compliance with established IHS and Billings Area policy.
o Make necessary arrangements and authorizes admission of patients to the appropriate hospital. This
includes authorization for admission to contract facilities for emergency medical care, surgery and
labor and delivery units.
