The role you’ll contribute :
- Provides direct patient care in the cardiac care department; Monitors patients during procedures / exercises for the detection of cardiac and pulmonary abnormalities;
- Communicates with the physicians about changes in the patient's clinical condition including laboratory tests, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology;
- Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and response to treatment; Additionally, is able to perform general nursing duties in related departments with adequate supervision;
Participates in performance improvement.
The value you’ll bring to the team :
- Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac monitoring; Identifies dysrhythmias and treats appropriately based upon ACLS protocol.
- Able to perform head to toe assessments on all patients and reassessments as per policy.
- Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.
- Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medication / healthcare errors.
- Knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Six months or more of experience in nursing care with prior medical experience (i.e. paramedic, licensed practical nursing)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert
- Basic Cardiac Life Support
