Job Summary / Basic Function Under the supervision of the Director of the Women’s Gender Resource Center, the Administrative Assistant for Equity / Inclusion will perform varied advanced secretarial and administrative work for the Office.
This includes providing support for the Women’s and Gender Resource Center, the Popel Shaw Center for Race and Ethnicity, the Office of LGBTQ Services, and student workers.
This position may have contact with high-level administrative offices and other campus departments and must be able to respond as appropriate.
Essential Functions :
- Interpret and explain established policies and procedures in response to inquiries from a variety of sources
- Summarizing reports and information to facilitate review by supervisor, and investigating, evaluating and resolving problems within the scope of position
- Maintains department files, record-keeping systems, and confidential materials
- Provides office operations support such as receiving and screening telephone calls and visitors, scheduling meetings, conference, seminars, and special events, maintaining supervisor’s calendar
- Utilizes, maintains and updates databases, software applications, and spreadsheets
- Generate letters, forms, reports, mailings, requests, faxes, credit card statements, office procedures, etc.
- Prepares minutes, notices, manuals, agendas and correspondence with all supporting documentation, requiring application of specialized knowledge of the assigned function
- Monitors and updates inventory, time, budget, payroll, and account records for office, monitors expenditures and performs simple analysis on accounts, authorizes and / or approves payments within established guidelines
Preferred Qualifications Required :
High School Diploma or GED
Driver’s license preferred but not required.
1-3 years work experience
Preferred :
Bachelor’s Degree A valid Driver's Licence is required. Employees (operators) must have been in possession of a valid operator’s license for not less than three (3) years and the license must have been in good standing without interruption during that time period.
No Successful candidate will also be required to complete ACT 153 Clearance No This position is considered "Emergency Staff.
As such they may be required to report to work even when the college is closed or is operating under a delayed start.
