Who we are looking for :
We are currently searching for a Material Handler (Night Shift) - based out in Tampa, FL. Reporting to the Shift Lead, Material Handler will monitor operations and processes to ensure products are being produced according to standards.
The primary focus will be to package products, monitor products for defects, assist in the startup or changeover of products, and keep work areas clean and organized.
What you'll do :
Material Handler's responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Understand and comply with all company safety, standards, and rules, including the Life-Saving Rules Policy.
- Consistently performs proper housekeeping which includes cleaning work areas, machines, and other equipment as required / needed to meet Plant 5's standards.
- Operate and / or oversee saw to cut pipe to specified lengths.
- Bundle pipe according to inventory / shipping specifications.
- Able to package finished pipe into proper crate quantities and to cut crate boards to proper lengths and adjust if needed.
- Compare colors, shapes, textures, or grades of products or materials with templates or samples to verify conformance to quality standards
What you'll bring :
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Machine operation or mechanical skillset experience preferred.
- Know how to use a tape measure required and other measuring tools preferred.
- Knowledge of Plastic or manufacturing processes desired
- Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted
Within 3 months, you'll :
- Complete any required training
- Have developed relationships with the key stakeholders for this role.
- Be well-versed in Atkore's Business System and the importance of your role to daily operations.
