Mental Health Clinician I - Bullying Advocacy

In the CARING FOR KIDS Bullying & Violence in School Advocacy Program, the Mental Health Clinician I provides a range of clinical services as a part of the treatment team.

Under the oversight and supervision of the Program Coordinator, the Clinician I provides Trauma based psychotherapy to children who have experienced school bullying and / or school violence

Services provided by the Clinician may include Outreach Presentations

Client Engagement, Intake and Assessment, Psychotherapy, Case Management, Crisis Intervention, Psychoeducation, and Linkage and Referrals

The Clinician I will also provide training support to the Counselor and Professional Student Volunteer. JOB ID#31150A

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Works with team staff, to develop an Initial Assessment, Case Plan and Plan of Care for clients 18 and under
  • Develop and update safety and crisis plan.
  • Documents all clinical interventions in Exym.
  • Assists the client to prepare the client for court proceedings and / or school safety / advocacy meetings.
  • Works in conjunction with other service providers and referral source to coordinate and integrate services for families as needed.
  • Schedules intakes and completes all appropriate paperwork as assigned. Responsible for completing other required program documentation including reporting of data collected regarding service outcomes and objectives based on the evidence-based practices that may be used in Intensive Counseling / Psychotherapy and Counseling sessions.
  • Participates in weekly program staff meetings, and treatment team meetings.
  • Provides back-up training to MH Counselor II and Professional Student Volunteer(s).
  • Assists with crisis intervention, support, and stabilization as needed.
  • Is respectful of and sensitive to each family’s cultural and individual needs and customs as appropriate.
  • Assists in Community Outreach Presentation / Activities.
  • Prepares summaries and reports of clinical findings per client request, and completes contract required reports.
  • Attends 40-hours of training within 60 business days of his / her start date and at least 4 hours of on-going in-service training quarterly for ongoing professional skill development.
