Job Description
Faststream is recruiting for a leading trader of marine fuels and lubricants and they are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Bunker Trader to join their client's team in Florida.
We are looking for a candidate with an existing portfolio of suppliers and customers in South America and / or Central America.
Duties include :
- Sourcing and purchasing bunker fuels from various suppliers in the market
- Negotiating with suppliers to secure competitive prices and favorable payment terms
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders
- Monitoring market trends and developments to identify opportunities for growth and improvement
- Staying up-to-date with industry regulations and ensuring compliance with internal procedures
- Providing timely and accurate information and pricing to internal and external parties
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure a seamless delivery of services to clients.
Requirements :
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Maritime Business, Economics, or Supply Chain Management
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in bunker trading or a related field
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Existing South American / Central American portfolio of customers & suppliers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to speak Spanish and / or Portuguese as well as English, would be a significant advantage
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with shipping and trading software
- Good knowledge of the bunker industry, regulations, and market trends
