What it's like to be a Kitchen Utility Worker at Kitchen Utility Worker

As a Full Time Kitchen Utility Worker at Palolo Chinese Home, you will have a diverse range of responsibilities that are crucial to the smooth operation of our kitchen.

Your main focus will be maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout the department and facility. This includes diligently cleaning equipment and surfaces, following our department procedures and schedules.

You will also play a vital role in transporting supplies to different areas and assisting with unpacking and storing deliveries.

Trash removal and operation of the dish machine to wash dishes at the correct temperature are also key responsibilities.

You will operate, clean, and maintain the floor scrubber and buffer, ensuring that the kitchen and dining room floors are spotless.

Monitoring and recording dish machine temperatures are essential to ensure compliance with safety standards. Your attention to detail and adherence to proper food handling procedures will contribute to a safe and sanitary work environment.

By returning all kitchen tools, keys, and equipment to their designated areas, you will demonstrate your commitment to maintaining an organized and efficient kitchen.

What we're looking for in a Kitchen Utility Worker

To be successful in the role of Full Time Kitchen Utility Worker at Palolo Chinese Home, there are several key skills and qualifications required.

Firstly, a high school diploma or general education equivalent is necessary, and 3 to 6 months of work experience in a similar role is preferred.

The ability to work weekends and / or holidays, if needed.

Physical stamina is important, as you will be required to stand, walk, bend, and reach for the duration of your shift. The ability to lift equipment up to 100 lbs.

with assistance and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs. is also necessary. Following instructions accurately and logging information on forms are crucial skills for this position.

Attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision are important qualities to possess.
