We are currently inviting applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or full Professor position starting in the Fall of 2024.
We seek a faculty colleague with specific expertise in organizational theory and behavior. Preferred candidates will be able to demonstrate teaching and / or research expertise in addressing health inequities from institutional, systems, policy and / or managerial perspectives, and contribute to advancing the School’s ongoing work on social justice, anti-racism, equity, diversity and inclusion.
Ideally, candidates will have skills related to population health management and policy as well as knowledge of public health systems.
The position is nine-month, tenure track, renewable appointments at Portland State University.
Minimum Qualifications
- Doctorate in health services management, health systems, health policy, public health, or related discipline.
- Commitment to social justice, educational equity and promotion of diversity in higher education and public health.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences.
- Beginning or developed track record of published scholarship and externally funded activity with a preferred emphasis on health systems management and policy strategies for addressing health inequities.
- Experience teaching students in health system administration, organizational theory, strategic management, and / or systems-based approaches to health improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Developing or demonstrated history of engagement and collaboration with community organizations.
- Skills in population health management and policy.
- Knowledge of / experience working in public health systems.
- Experience leading research teams.
- Ability to engage undergraduate students to achieve academic excellence.
- Experience advising and / or mentoring first generation students and / or students of color.
