Hire Up Staffing and Healthcare is seeking an Front Office Registration & Scheduling Clerk for one of our Medical Oncology Office in Visalia, CA.
This is a 13- week assignmentwith the possibility of being extended or hired on permanently.
Schedule : Day Shift / 40 Hours / 13 - Weeks
Pay : $18.12
Essential Functions :
- Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner.
- Checks-in patients, verifies and updates necessary information in the medical record. Assists patients with ambulatory difficulties.
Ensures proper client intake at front desk.
- Maintains appointment scheduling and follows office scheduling policies.
- Able to operate all office equipment. Able to perform all file maintenance and data entry using department computer applications.
- Answers telephone, screens and refers calls, takes accurate messages, including date of call, name of caller, telephone number and reason for call, and provides information within the scope of clinic policies.
Screen visitors and responds to routine requests for information.
- Maintains department filing system and continually organizes information as needed or as requested by the supervisor.
- Researches all information needed to complete billing process.
- May be assigned to key charge information into computer systems for billing purposes.
- Collects co-pays, deductibles, etc and completes receipts in neat and accurate manner.
- Determines client payment status, i.e., Medi-Cal, Insurance, Cash, etc. When necessary makes referral to benefit counselor.
- Attends required meetings, in-service, and Quality Improvement activities and participates in committees as requested.
- Complies with confidentiality policies.
- Works flexible hours to accommodate the needs of patients and the clinic. May be assigned to work extended hours as needed.
- Assists in coordination of the New Patient Referral.
- May be assigned to cover the front desk at the Hanford facility.
- May be assigned to ID accounts for correct information including charges and diagnosis.
- Assists in Electronic Health Information maintenance.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and services appropriate to the population served on the assigned unit or work area.
Education and Work Experience :
- High School Education / GED or equivalent : Preferred
- Associates / Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education / related experience : Preferred
Licenses / Certifications :
- High School Diploma
- Physicians office or hospital experience
