The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for overseeing and executing all functions related to accounts payable. This includes guiding the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable team, maintaining the accounts payable system, and ensuring the timely and accurate processing of payments.
This role is critical in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the company’s financial health.
Key Responsibilities :
- Ensure prompt payments of vendor invoices and expense vouchers to capture cash discounts and maintain a positive credit rating.
- Maintain comprehensive transaction records for accurate accounting reporting and proper accounts payable register upkeep.
- Oversee the company credit card and travel reimbursement programs.
- Supervise the receipt, verification, and recording of invoices and direct expenses.
- Review vendor and service provider agreements, and correspond with vendors regarding billing and payments to resolve any issues.
- Track and pay sales and use tax as required.
- Reconcile statements and payment records to ensure accuracy.
- Analyze accounts and prepare relevant reports.
- Streamline and enhance the payment process.
- Assist with internal and external audits as needed.
- Lead and support the accounts payable team in their daily activities, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.
Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years in accounts payable, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Proficiency in ERP systems.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles in accordance with GAAP standards.
- Demonstrated experience in expense reporting.
