Golf Shop Staff/Assistant in Training

Overview

Blessings Golf Club is seeking applicants for a Golf Shop Attendant position. An Assistant-in-Training role will considered for the right applicant.

Blessings Golf Club is a premier golf club located in Johnson, Arkansas. Blessings was developed with the vision of being a club of comfort for members and their guests and a place to escape the demands of the workplace.

The heart of the Club is an environment designed to promote a welcoming atmosphere to enjoy time with family and friends, complimented by great golf.

The Club offers an award-winning clubhouse and pool, state of the art fitness center, and an expansive practice area that includes six indoor hitting bays and an unparalleled indoor short game practice facility.

The extremely challenging course was originally created by Robert Trent Jones, II, with a redesign recently completed by noted architect Kyle Phillips.

The course is currently ranked #144 in the United States, and #2 in the state or Arkansas.

Facilities also include offices for the University of Arkansas Golf Coaches and dedicated locker rooms for the teams. Blessings Golf Club hosts events such as the annual Blessings Collegiate Invitational, AJGA Stacy Lewis Invitational, and other prestigious championships.

Past events include the 2019 Men’s and Women’s NCAA Championships and 2020 Southern Junior Amateur.

Experience Required

• Previous retail & customer service experience required
• Golf experience and golf knowledge preferred, but not mandatory
• High School Diploma required
• To be considered for the Assistant in Training opportunity, must have a desire to begin a career in the golf industry and must enroll in the PGA Apprentice program upon acceptance of the position.

Essential Responsibilities

Assists in administering daily operations of the Club including, but not limited to : facilitating the

membership, assisting in the merchandising operation, and operating the POS system.

• Promotes the Club and helps facilitate an environment of hospitality to members and guests.
• Assist with junior golf programming.
• Assists in administering all point of sales application revisions and needs as it applies to green fee sales, merchandise sales, and member / guest billing.
• Coordinates with Accounting Department in regard to policy and procedure revisions, updates, and implementation.
• Reconciles daily tee sheets, performs check-in, and receives payments from members and guests. Resolves discrepancies as it applies to duplicate charges and over or under payment.
• Maintains a clean, orderly, and well-stocked golf shop.
• Aids professionals with the procurement

of merchandise and supports merchandising operation.

• Assist in the preparation for member and outside events which may include coordinating and verifying scorecards, cart labels, rules sheets, score sheets, format sheets, pairing sheets and hole assignments.
• Follows established opening and closing procedures.
• Supervisors outside staff alongside the professional on duty.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.
