Driver Operator - Class A
The City of College Park's Department of Public Works has an immediate opening for a Motor Equipment Operator II, which requires a Class A CDL driver's license (this can be a Maryland restricted A license because the leaf machine trailer has electric brakes, not air brakes).
Duties include operating a 30-35-ton truck trash truck, snowplow dump truck (dump truck pulling a 25 cubic yard leaf machine), and other specialized equipment;
and performing manual labor. This position is essential and subject to a 24 / 7 span of operation, including mandatory overtime for weather-related or emergency situations.
Qualifications : Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent with at least 3 years of experience operating motorized equipment.
A valid Class A CDL with airbrakes and tanker endorsements and a safe driving record are also required. The minimum hourly rate will be $23.
55 - $24.60 plus excellent benefits.
