A stable financial services private company in Puyallup, WA seeks an experienced Accounting Tax Manager. This position will report to the Controller and will be responsible for developing an in-house tax function, managing external tax providers, and preparing financials for multiple entities.
This role requires a blend of accounting expertise, multi-entity accounting, consolidations, and comprehensive tax knowledge, including federal, state, and partnership taxes.
Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee and manage the accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Handle multi-entity accounting and consolidations.
- Prepare and review federal, state, and partnership tax returns.
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
- Conduct tax research and planning to optimize tax positions.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable tax regulations and laws.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- CPA certification and / or public accounting tax experience preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and tax management.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial statements, tax regulations, and compliance.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
