Financial Consultant (up to $75 / hr)
We areseeking a highly skilled Financial Consultant to join our team and support ourAlternative Finance operations. This remote role offers competitivecompensation of up to $75 per hour and the opportunity to work with a leadingprivate mortgage Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) with assets exceeding $5billion.
The successful candidate will assist in building and refiningfinancial processes and controls, working closely with the REIT Finance Teamand external service providers.
Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with the REIT Finance Team and review third-party serviceprovider’s investment accounting processes and outputs
- Oversee third-party service provider’s preparation of accounting andfinancial statements, including bank reconciliations and intercompany accounts
- Manage accounting and reporting for whole loan pools, includingpurchases, sales, and securitizations, and review Trust Account reconciliations
- Assist with managing the REIT’s legal entity and account structure,including the formation and assignment of new accounts and legal entities
- Support the monthly and quarterly close processes, including reviewingjournal entries, bank reconciliations, and preparing consolidated financialstatements
Qualifications :
- Degree in Accounting / Finance is required
- 0 - 4 years of accounting experience in the financial services sector,preferably with Big 4 experience
- Demonstrated initiative and strong drive
- Hands-on experience with general ledger systems is beneficial
- Proficient in Excel, including functions such as SUMIF, IF, VLOOKUP,Pivot tables, and XIRR, with working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Word
- Strong attention to detail, effective communication, andorganizational skills
- Ability to identify opportunities for process improvements and makerecommendations across the business
